Information for the Book Trade
Here you will find retail and wholesale discount schedules, our returns policy, and special discount conditions (such a college adoptions and the STOP plan).
Retail Orders
The following are terms for bonafide book retailers. (books must be sold retail—no orders from individuals). Please also consult the returns policy. Accounts not in good standing will be put on prepayment only terms and will not earn any discount. Retails in California must have a valid sellers permit.
Retail Discounts
- Cloth and paperback editions, single titles or assorted, sent to a single address (drop shipments incur additional fees).
- 1 copy: no discount.
- 2 copies: 20%
- 3-9 copies: 40%
- 10-24 copies: 41%
- 25-49 copies: 42%
- 50-99 copies: 43%
- 100-249 copies: 44%
- 250 to 499 copies: 45%
- 500 or more copies: 50%
Short Discount Items
- One book: no discount.
- Two or more books: 20%.
College Adoptions
- Orders from college or university bookstores for ten or more copies of the same title will be considered a text adoption entitling the bookstore to a discount of 20%.
Single Title Order Plan
- Single title order plan (STOP) orders qualify for a 20% discount provided payment accompanies order. Shipping charge for single books is $4.95. (No discount allowed if order is not prepaid.)
Assortments
- Textbooks and short discount items may be counted in an assortment to qualify trade books for a higher discount.
Remittance
- Terms: Net 30 days.
- Actual freight or postage charges will be added to all orders.
- Handling charges may be added to orders

Wholesale Orders
The following are terms for bonafide book wholesalers and library jobbers. (books must be sold to the trade or to libraries—no retail accounts).
Wholesale Discounts
Cloth and paperback editions, single titles or assorted, sent to a single address (drop shipments incur additional fees).
- 1 copy: no discount.
- 2-10 copies: 45%
- 10 or more copies: 55%
Short Discount Items
- 1 copy: no discount.
- 2 or more copies: 25%
Remittance
- Terms: Net 90 days.
- Shipping and handling charges will be added to all orders.

Returns
Return authorization is necessary for returns from retailers or wholesalers. Please send invoice number(s) via e-mail to address on invoice with request for return. Returns from accounts not current will be refused. Please send all returns in as-new condition, packaged securely to avoid damage, postage paid to

Additional Provisions
All returns must meet all of the following conditions:
- Books must be from invoices that were paid according to terms (books from invoices that were paid late will be refused).
- Retailer account must be in good standing and current.
- Books must be clean and in saleable condition, free of dealer's marks. (Books received in other than saleable condition will be refused credit and returned COD)
- Books must have been purchased directly from The Live Oak Press®, LLC.
- Shipping charges must be prepaid.
- A copy of the original invoice or the original invoice number must accompany the return. (Returns without this information will be refused.)
- Returns must be made no less than 90 days and no more than 180 days after the date of the original invoice.
- Credit memos will not be issued if customer's account is not current
- Outstanding invoices currently charged against the customer's account will be deducted from credit memo.
